Convert AVIF to JPG

AVIF is the newest web image format: tiny files, but many editors, office suites and older devices cannot open them. This page turns AVIF into ordinary JPG on your device.

The picture is decoded by your browser and re-encoded as JPG at high quality; add a size cap if a form needs one, or choose PNG to keep transparency.

Nothing is uploaded, and the page works offline once loaded.

How to use it

  1. Add one AVIF file or a whole batch.
  2. JPG is already selected as the output; set a maximum width if you also want it smaller.
  3. Press Convert. Each image is decoded and re-encoded on your device.
  4. Download one file, or a ZIP for a batch.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device’s processing power. The file never leaves your computer or phone, which is why it also works when your connection drops.
Why will the AVIF not load?
Older browsers cannot decode AVIF. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 16 or later can; update the browser and try again.
Does it keep transparency?
JPG cannot. Choose PNG as the output if the AVIF has a transparent background.
