Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The whole job runs inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere, which is why the tool also works with the internet switched off once the page has loaded.
How long a video fits in 50 MB?
Roughly five to eight minutes at 720p with good quality; longer clips still fit but at lower quality. Shrinking to 720p or 480p before compressing is the biggest single gain.
Will it look bad?
Short clips barely change. Long clips lose sharpness in fast motion first. The tool tells you the bitrate it used so you can judge.
What formats does it accept?
MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, 3GP and most phone recordings. The result is an MP4 that plays everywhere.
