Convert PSD to PNG

Runs on your device · Your file never leaves your device.

A logo, an icon set or a cut-out that lives in a Photoshop document needs to become a PNG before a website, a slide or a print shop can use it. This page flattens PSD and PSB files on your own device and keeps the transparent areas exactly as the document has them.

Every visible layer is composited — opacity, blend modes, masks, groups, layer styles — and text and smart objects appear as last rendered. The PNG is lossless, so nothing is approximated after the flattening itself.

Nothing is uploaded: the reader runs in your browser, and the file stays on your computer or phone.

How to convert PSD to PNG

  1. Add one PSD or PSB file, or several.
  2. PNG is already selected as the output; set a maximum width if you also want it smaller.
  3. Press Convert. The layers are flattened on your device, exactly as the document shows them.
  4. Download the PNG, or a ZIP for a batch.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device’s processing power. The file never leaves your computer or phone, which is why it also works when your connection drops.
Is the transparent background kept?
Yes. Wherever the document is transparent, the PNG is transparent, including soft edges and semi-transparent pixels such as a shadow fading out.
Why is the PNG so large?
PNG stores every pixel exactly. A flattened poster with photographs and gradients compresses poorly that way; if the picture has no transparency and the size matters, /psd-to-jpg gives a much smaller file.
Can I make it smaller for a website?
Set a maximum width before converting, and the PNG is scaled down with its proportions kept. For an exact byte limit, convert to PNG here and then use /compress-image, which reduces the palette before it touches the dimensions.
Why does the first file take a moment to open?
The reader for these files is a 3.5 MB engine that is downloaded from this site the first time one of them is opened in a visit, then kept for the rest of the visit. It runs in a background thread of your browser; the file itself is never sent anywhere.
