Scanned documents often come out sideways because the page went through the feeder the wrong way. Pick the pages, choose 90°, 180° or 270°, and download a PDF that opens the right way up.
Rotation is stored as a property of the page rather than by redrawing it, so nothing is re-encoded and no quality is lost. The file you get back is the same document, correctly oriented.
You can rotate the whole document at once or select individual pages from the thumbnails — useful when a scan mixes portrait and landscape originals.
Not for: Straightening a crooked scan — this turns pages in 90° steps, it does not deskew a few degrees of tilt.
90° right turns the page clockwise, so its top edge moves to the right. 270° left turns it the other way, and 180° turns it upside down. To choose, look at where the top of the text points: if it points left, the page needs 90° right; if it points right, it needs 270° left. The thumbnails of the pages that will turn show the result before you press the button.
The turn is added to whatever rotation the page already has. A page that a scanner has already marked as turned is turned further from where it is now, not reset, so judge by the thumbnail.
Each run applies one angle. With nothing selected, the button turns every page of the document; tap pages, or type their numbers, to turn only those. If some pages need 90° right and others 270° left, turn the first group, download the result, load that downloaded file and turn the second group. Each run starts from the file you loaded, so the second run keeps the first run's work only when you load the downloaded copy.
Choosing pages works as on /delete-pdf-pages: tap the thumbnails, or type numbers such as 3, 8-10, which is the only way in a document of more than 250 pages.
Only the rotation entry of each chosen page changes. Text stays selectable and searchable, and links, form fields and comments turn with their page, because a viewer applies the rotation to everything on it. The file is named after the original with "-rotated" added, for example report-rotated.pdf.
Turning changes the direction of a page, not its size: a landscape page turned by 90° becomes a portrait page with the same dimensions. If the turned pages must all end up on one paper size, use /change-pdf-page-size afterwards.
