Remove a photo background — and fix the edges yourself
Automatic background removal is never perfect: every model occasionally shaves off hair, ears or the edge of a shoulder, or leaves a scrap of the old background behind. Most sites give you the imperfect cut and nothing else. This tool treats the AI pass as a first draft.
After the automatic cut, two soft brushes make the result actually right: Restore paints back the original pixels the model removed — sweep it over the hair the cut took and it returns — while Erase removes whatever the model left behind. Four brush sizes plus a fine slider, multi-step undo, and a live checkerboard preview so removed really looks removed. Export a transparent PNG for design work, or flatten onto white or any colour — white is exactly what visa and ID portals want.
The segmentation model runs inside your browser (about a 12 MB engine, downloaded once from this site and cached), so the photo never leaves your device. It is tuned for people — portraits, selfies, ID photos; objects and products may need more brushwork.
How to use it

Pick transparent, white or a custom colour.
Download as PNG (transparent) or JPG.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device’s processing power. The file never leaves your computer or phone, which is why it also works when your connection drops.
The automatic cut removed part of my hair — how do I get it back?
Switch to the Restore brush, pick a size, and paint over the missing hair. The original pixels return exactly where you paint, with a soft edge. If a stroke goes too far, Undo reverts it.
Can I make the background white instead of transparent?
Yes — choose White (or any colour) and export as JPG or PNG. White is what visa, passport and ID photo portals expect.
Does it work on products and objects?
The model is trained on people, so portraits cut best. Objects often work but usually need more correction with the brushes.
