Almost every Indian exam and bank application asks for the signature as a JPG between 10 KB and 20 KB, often with the dimensions fixed too. A phone photo of a signature is two or three megabytes, so the form rejects it without saying what to do.

Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and compressed inside your browser; it never leaves your device. That is deliberate: passport scans, bank statements and contracts should not pass through a stranger’s server just to get smaller.
What size do SSC, UPSC and IBPS want?
The common pattern is a JPG of 10–20 KB with the signature about 4.0 × 1.5 cm (roughly 140 × 60 pixels at screen resolution), on white paper in black or blue ink. Portals differ, so read the number on your own form and type it here — the tool takes any limit.
The file will not come down to 20 KB
Reduce the pixel dimensions as well as the quality. A signature scanned at full page width carries far more pixels than the form needs; scaling it to a few hundred pixels wide gets under 20 KB while staying crisp.
My signature has a grey or shadowed background
Photograph it flat, in even light, or run it through the background remover first and pick white — a clean white background both looks correct on the form and compresses to a much smaller file.
