A PDF carries more than its pages. The author field holds whoever set up the computer, the creator names the software and version, the dates show when the file was made and last touched, and the XMP block can repeat all of it plus a document ID. Before you send a CV, a report or a legal document, see what it says — and take it out.
Load the file and the tool lists every entry it finds: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Created with, Produced by, creation and modification dates, any custom entries, and whether XMP metadata or application-private data is attached. Press Remove and a copy is written with the Info dictionary emptied, every XMP metadata stream deleted (document, page and image level), and private application data dropped. The copy is saved without a producer stamp of its own, so it does not simply swap one signature for another.
What it does not do is equally important. The page content and its text are untouched, comments keep their author names, and photographs embedded in the PDF keep whatever EXIF they carry inside the image stream. Metadata removal is one step; if the pages themselves contain your name, that is a different job.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This conversion runs entirely inside your browser using your own device’s processing power. The file never leaves your computer or phone, which is why it also works when your connection drops.
What exactly is removed?
Every entry of the document information dictionary (Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, dates and any custom keys), every XMP metadata stream anywhere in the file, and PieceInfo — the private data that design tools attach. The tool shows the counts after it runs.
Will the PDF still open normally?
Yes. Metadata is optional in the PDF format; readers show blank document properties and nothing else changes. Pages, fonts, links, bookmarks and form fields are all kept.
Does it remove my name from the text or from comments?
No. Text on the page is content, not metadata, and comment author names are part of each comment. Edit those separately, or flatten the PDF to images if the comments must go.
